Reinas (2013)

Reinas, 2013, is a series of photographs documenting queer performance in Latinx nightlife spaces in South Florida. Navigating the greater Miami and Ft. Lauderdale area, I frequented Azucar NightClub, Off The Hookah, and The Manor Complex from January to June of 2013. Making photographs with the resident performers on and off-stage. These images depict the process and tools of preparation, interactions with the spectator and the voyeur, and the production, execution, and presentation of an assemblage of queer performance.
